LEAF in Partnership with Parents In Training was created to provide an intensive trauma-responsive, love-based wraparound services program for at-risk adoptive families in California. Our mission is to reduce the parents stress while teaching them how to be therapeutically available to their children. In this manner, we engage the entire family unit in the healing process. We believe healing happens inside the home throughout the diverse network of hidden communication patterns in the various family relationships. In instances that children cannot remain in the house, we provide temporary therapeutic respite services to enable the family to develop a therapeutic, healing environment.
The Parent Educator will act as a member of the Family Care Team (FCT) and is responsible for supporting and guiding parents through a dynamic process of education. This includes planning, implementation, and coordination of various training and education methods and materials that are specific to the parents’ identified needs. Training and education materials will be provided by the Manager of Training & Methodology and should correspond with the Care Plan. The Parent Educator is also responsible for collaborating with the Family Support Coaches in the family homes to promote a productive learning and practicing environment for the parents. Parent Educator (PE) reports directly to the Trauma Support Specialist.
The wraparound process is community-based, culturally relevant, individualized, strength-based, family-centered, love-based and trauma informed. Assessment tools are completed, revised and utilized throughout the family’s participation in the Wraparound Program. The PE will actively participate in regular FCT meetings, including the youth, their family and their supports, both professional and natural to monitor implementation of the plan and make changes to the plan as needed to promote success for the youth and their family within their community.

When you meet Bryan it takes two seconds for him to talk, and for you to be on board with what he is doing because he is so passionate about what he sees for the future of these children and families. It’s empowering, it’s been a blessing and a great journey. I love to see the growth from its inception and see how much we have done, it’s impressive.
Director of Education
My experience with Leaf has been wonderful. The people, the culture, is all loved based. everything that I learned, and I do is applicable to all relationships, not just for adoptive families. It is a great place to work as well as to create relationships with employees.
Executive Assitant
It is a great experience with lots of challenges. However, we have a dynamic team with different values and personalities and assets that everybody brings to the table. I like that we are always working on improving ourselves not only as individuals but as an organization, we always get good input from each other. Best company I can ever work for.
